Verse 1
- What is the difference between being the "chief judge" and being the "governor".
- What is "the land" that Lachoneus was governor over? Zarahemla? What area is covered in this "land"?

- Why would Nephi leave the land of Zarahemla? How does this compare to the disappearance of his grandfather (Alma II)?
- Why are all the plates being kept by the religious leaders, rather than the political leaders?
- What were "all those things which had been kept sacred"? How were they kept, and for what purpose?

- Why wouldn't Nephi tell anyone where he was going?

- The people saw many signs before the day and night and day of light. Shouldn't the previous signs be enough to convert those people? Why or why not?
