Many verses in the scriptures tell us not to give grudgingly. Here are some examples:
- 2 Cor 9:7 : Don't give grudgingly or of necessity, but give cheerfully.
- 1 Pet 4:9 : Be hospitable without grudging.
- Moro 7:8 : The evil person giveth grudgingly. Such a gift is counted of evil.
- D&C 70:14 : Be equal in temporal things "and this not grudgingly."
Other scriptures give similar advice but rather than telling us not to give grudgingly they tell us how we should give.
- 1 Cor 13:3 : We must give with charity.
- Moro 7:9 : We must give with real intent.
