Talk:Mosiah 7:1-10:22
Verses 7:6-10: Bacabs, Four Brothers, etc.[edit]
Matthew, I'm OK with having the bacabs stuff in the related links. I was mostly just trying to bring in this curious aspect of having four brothers or named individuals in these interesting roles. After I read this, I noticed another one in Alma 2:22. So mostly I just wanted to bring up the possibility that there is some sort of tradition going on here of these groups of four, that might also be reflected in Mesoamerican traditions. Most notably, and I haven't linked this yet, are the four brothers said to be founders of the highland Maya groups in Guatemala, as recorded in the Popul Vuh and the Annals of the Kak'chik'els.
So, a lot here that I want to somehow start playing with. Perhaps best to do that here in the discussion pages, before moving something onto the main page? Rob Fergus 16:39, 29 May 2008 (CEST)
Yeah. I agree it is interesting. And I don't think putting it somewhere other than the exegesis is about making it 2nd priority. It is just a question of whether it is exegesis. In my view this info would best be included in some text specifically devoted to the topic. That sort of topical thing can be included as a sub page of your user page or as a blog post. then you can link to it from the relevant scriptures so that people who come to the scriptures are sure to find it. --Matthew Faulconer 06:29, 30 May 2008 (CEST)
