Here is a thought question related to this discussion. Imagine that all people on the earth were just as righteous as Jesus. I believe that such a world is logically possible or we are not guilty for our own sins. (Needless to say we are guilty for our own sins.) Surely such a world would be better than our own world.

Jesus never sinned. If we make a distinction between sin and transgression than we might define transgression in such a way that (we might assume) Jesus did transgress in innocences. However, even if Jesus transgressed some law in true innocence, he did nothing requiring forgiveness. In this way he differs from Adam--who the scriptures tell us was forgiven for his transgression in the Garden of Eden. I assume both Adam and Eve transgressed there, not just Adam. Thus if Adam and Eve had acted in a way where they obeyed God with the same amount of righteousness that Jesus did, Adam and Eve would have acted differently such that they would not need to be forgiven.

Taken together I believe this means that there would be a way for the people on such a world to know good and evil, progress, have children and gain eternal life.
