Lexical notes
- The word enmity (verse 15) means roughly hatred. Enmity here is translated from the Hebrew word eybah. In both Hebrew and English the word has the same root as enemy. Enmity is essentially the feeling one has for an enemy.
Exegesis
Verse 15 tells us that the Lord put enmity or hate between people and the devil and his followers.
