Talk:Alma 1:1-15
Hi Budiselech,
I liked your comments and questions. I too believe it is easy to think that it is surprising how easily earlier followers of Christ were lead out of his Church by false prophets only to swallow hook, line and sinker modern false prophets.
On verse 5 you wrote:
- It appears that many people are willing pay to be saved
I agree broadly with your point but I think that people could misunderstand you as saying that Nehor asked them to pay tit-for-tat for their salvation when maybe it was a bit more complicated then that. Or in othe words, we don't find people who ask us today to pay tit-for-tat for our salvation, but I think we do find today lots of financial support for people who give us false versions of salvation and encourage us to trust in the arm of flesh. I'm hoping that the rewrite will make this easier to apply to our day. Of course feel free to re-edit. --Matthew Faulconer 14:30, 30 Jun 2006 (UTC)
