On this site you can read and provide commentary on Mormon scripture, or in other words, the Standard Works for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Standard Works for the Church include: The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine & Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price.

Content in four categories:

  1. Thought questions: Questions for further study
  2. Exegesis: Explanation and analysis of the scriptural text in question
  3. Lexical notes: Notes about the meaning or origin of words
  4. External links: Links to information outside this site connected to this scripture


Help is needed to create this free resource. We are just getting started so it is an exciting time to contribute your ideas. There are lots of ways to help, but the most important is to create and improve the content of this site. It's easy for anyone to do this--keep reading.


Getting started

Anyone can add or edit content on this site. Here are some simple steps to get started.

  1. Take a quick read of site policies
  2. Find a section of scripture you are interested in (see below)
  3. Add and revise content by clicking the edit link
  4. Click "Show preview" to verify what you are about to post
  5. Don't forget to "Save page" when you are done

Finally, if you haven't done so already, please create an account. Though we allow anonymous edits, by creating an account you help create a sense of community here. Further, when you log in, certain personalized features of this site will be available to you that are not available to anonymous users.

Searching for scriptures

Alternatively you can type in the reference to any verse in the Standard Works and go directly to its commentary page. To do this, you'll need to use the standard abbreviations used in the footnotes of the scriptures published by the Church. For example, type:
