Exegesis
In verse 17 Nephi says that he wants to see, hear and know of the things that his Father had seen in a vision. It is interesting that Nephi sees it as the role of the Holy Ghost to not just provide him with a feeling that what he father says is true but to actually show him what his Father saw.
