# Make a financial contribution. Actually I'm not ready to accept one, but if you are intersted in making one, please add your name to the [[Finances]] page.
# Keep commentary centered on the text. Standard Works Commentary is a place to provide questions and exegesis about the text of the Standard Works. Even where a topic is directly relevant to the text, don't let the topic become the center of the commentary.
+
# Differing points of view among believing members of the Church should be addressed from a neutral position. Commentary should reflect these differing views fairly and sympathetically. See Wikipedia's [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutral_point_of_view explanation of a neutral point of view] for a good discussion of how to address a variety of points of view without bias.
+
# Commentary regarding views inconsistent with being a believing member are off topic. Just as this site is not a place to promote such views (see policy 1) it is also not a place to find fault with them.
+
# Respect other contributors. Standard Works Commentary contributors may come from different countries or cultures and hold widely different views. Treating others with respect is key to collaborating effectively. Again, though its purpose and focus is different, Wikipedia provides a model. See that site's articles on [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_etiquette etiquette], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Writers_rules_of_engagement writers rules of engagement] and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Civility civility].

# Policies for external links have not been formulated. Expect this to get fleshed out over time. In short, don't link to external information unless it is directly relevant to the text. With rare exception the same external source should not be linked to from more than one Standard Works Commentary page.
+
# Don't infringe copyrights. Standard Works Commentary is licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. Submitting work which infringes copyrights could lead to legal problems. See Standard Works Commentary copyrights for more information.

There are lots of ways to help. You probably know of some that I don't so please edit this page and add them.

  1. The most important way to help is to add commentary to the site.
  1. Brand/Logo. I have tentatively named this site The Standard Works Commentary. I'd love a new name. Please add your ideas to the discussion page.

Also, I'd love a nice logo for the top left hand corner. First off I don't have any great ideas. 2nd I'm not really sure how to do it. Any one want to try their hand at a bit of graphic art? Send me you file. I'll upload it. If people don't like it they can submit a replacement. Here are the specs:

  • Image format: PNG, should be indexed if transparency is used for backwards compatibility with IE
  • Size: 135px width, 135-150px height
  1. Table of contents

The site doesn't yet have a table of contents for finding the correct passage of scripture without doing a search. Anyone could add this. It would be nice :)

  1. Help create better content for the home page.
  1. Decide which pages should be displayed on the left nav.
  1. Give feedback on the Feedback page.
  1. Make a financial contribution. Actually I'm not ready to accept one, but if you are intersted in making one, please add your name to the Finances page.
