However, eight times in the book of Proverbs, such as in [[Prov 22:3|Proverbs 22:3]], <I>aruwm</i> is translated as "prudent," a positive quality. Perhaps a good English equivalent of this word might be something such as "shrewd" or "highly aware" — a personal quality that can be used for good or evil. The use of this word suggests that the serpent was intelligent and knew exactly what he wanted to say.
