I am so new to this I don't know where to post this....

I want to do some work on the NT Gospels, but some of what I want to add is on text that is repeated---sometimes verbatim---in more than one book (i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all record the same event). How should I post my edits? If I post only under Matthew's account, for example, then visitors to the other Gospels will not find that exegesis/questions/etc. If I post in all four, then someone making a change would have to go to each one, and if they didn't then things would get messy.

An alternative I thought of is to post in Matthew and then link to that in the sections in the other Gospels. Does that seem best?

BrianJ, yeah, this is one of the weakeneses of the wiki structure/format. I think your suggestion of posting the commentary on the Matthew page and then posting a link to the other pages is best. (A similar issue arises in terms of "word studies." In both cases, however, I think the structure of the wiki is good in that it sort of forces us to focus on context.)
Also, I think posting a general question like this on your own user page works just fine. We should probably add some line about this on the help pages somewhere if it's not there somewhere already. (Eventually we'll probably want to set up a FAQ page, if we don't have one already--Matthew?---and encourage questions there, but with only a modest number of users, this works fine, IMHO of course....) --RobertC 21:29, 15 July 2007 (CEST)
