- D&C 20:65 (ordained...the vote of that church)
- D&C 101:77-80 (I established the Constitution of this land by the hands of wise men)
- D&C 109:54-55 (may those principles...the Constitution of our land...be established forever)
- 1 Pet 2:13-20 (submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake...honor the king)
