Name of Christ distinguishes the people from other people brought out of Jerusalem

I am curious about this comment that the name of Christ would distinguish this people from all others brought out of Jerusalem. I'm really not sure what to make of it. Also it is interesting that this is something Mormon included when he was abridging the records. It might be interesting to do a survey of all of the things that the Book of Mormon says about other people brought out of Jerusalem.

I don't remember if the scriptures tell us how many of these people were part of the group that was already in Zarahemla before the Nephites arrived and how many were Nephites. Maybe whatever the reason King Benjamin used these words it has something to do with the fact that this was still two peoples that were learning to be one people. No doubt bringing together two peoples with different languages, originally different beliefs and no doubt many other cultural differences would be something that would take a lot of work and time to accomplish. --Matthew Faulconer 05:53, 25 Nov 2005 (UTC)
