Robert, these questions are important, and I'm glad you thought to look elsewhere in the Book of Mormon for discourses similar to Alma's. What light does this shed on Alma 32? For the moment, it almost seems that the question should be: how does this complicate, confuse, and undo Alma 32? but I'll focus on the light it sheds for the moment. - No, I'm not sure what to make of all this yet, though I'm already second guessing whether Alma might've had "perfect knowlege" per the Brother of Jared in mind b/c the phrase is not used until Moroni interjects his narration in verse 17, so it probably makes more sense to think of Moroni using Alma's terms rather than Alma using the Brother of Jared's terms. But it's still interesting to see how Moroni uses the word pair, though Moro 7:15ff now seems more relevant to this passage than it did before. --RobertC 17:40, 18 Jan 2007 (UTC)
