Questions

Verse 31
- How is one "chosen" as a "vessel of the Lord"?
[edit]
Lexical notes
- Residue means here "everybody else." See the 1828 definition. Elsewhere in the scriptures it might seem to have a pejorative overtone (e.g. Moses 7:20, Ezek 36:5) but there are also plenty of cases where there is no pejorative connotation (D&C 58:58, D&C 42:33, Ezek 48:21).

Verses 30-32: Some see angels, residue have faith
- 3 Ne 12:2 also discusses how some people have the privilege of divine manifestations (seeing Christ in 3 Ne 12:2, seeing ministering angels here in v. 30) and others will believe the testimonies of those who have divine manifestations.
