- 1:6-10: The faces of these creatures actually correlate to the lead tribes of the Children of Isreal's banners in the encampment of Israel, with the tabernacle being in the center. Jewish tradition state that Judah's [on the East] banner was the Lion, Ephraim's [on the West]was a Ox, Reuben's [on the South]was Man and Dan's [on the North] was an eagle. See Numbers 2.
