| − | Just like Moroni, we too are in the midst of a war. We are not fighting a physical fight against the lamanites but rather a spiritual fight against the Advesary. Indeed, we too need to be constantly making preparations for the very real battles we face agaisnt Satan. Just as Moroni goes throughout the cities and fortifies each against the arrows and stones of the lamanites, we too need to fortify our lives against the wiles of the Devil. The question arises, how does one fortify thier lives against Satan? Fortunately, the inspired leaders of our church have shown us what we can do to fortify ourselves and our families. Daily prayer, scripture study, home/visiting teaching, church attendance, FHE, and the temple are but a few fortifying layers that can help protect us against the fiery darts of the Advesary. Indeed, this passage of scripture could be related to Ephesians 6 and pauls thoughts concerning the Armor of God. The church with its inspired leaders and guiding influences allows each of us to partake in the protective layers the gospel provides. Such a process is not a one time preparation but rather a constant process. We cannot allow ourselves to be lulled into a false sense of security, looking at past preparations to protect us agaisnt present problems. It is a daily battle that requires each of us to find ourselves in a state of constant readiness.

| − | A side note: I find it to be fascinating that when Paul refers to the Armor of God, he never makes mention of any armor that protects the back. I feel that the reason behind this is because God does not want us to runaway from the issues that confront us but rather overcome and conquer them.
