Verses 27:1-5[edit]

Can you imagine being able to teach with Jesus Christ! I would love to see his way of teaching and how he connects with his students. Learning teaching techniques from him and gsopel insights from him. What would it be like to have him for a teaching companion. The disciples he chose must have been elect! To have been chosen to have the master teacher personally train you and to be worthy to teach with him. --Bhardle 02:04, 7 Nov 2005 (UTC)

It is also interesting to note that when the Savior appeared, He asked, "What will ye that I should do?" I think that oft times we pray and are asking that same question to the Lord when He is asking that question back. This ties in with D&C 58:26-28-we need to apply ourselves ahead of time so that in prayer we can say, "God, this is what I am have come up with after much thought, please help me and show me where I can improve in this thing." It should also be noted that this question and situation have a decent amount of similarity with the experience of the brother of Jared in finding a way to light the vessels in the end of Ether, chapter 2.

Verses 27:6-10[edit]

We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives. When we are following the gospel in our lives we take upon ourselves the covenants and the christ's gospel. We are blessed and we receieve more enlightenment, but with this comes more responiblity. We take upon ourselves christs name as his disciples and we blessed with his spirit. --Bhardle 02:04, 7 Nov 2005 (UTC)

I offered a slightly different explanation for why God blesses us for the sake of Christ. I deleted the other answers given there because I wasn't quite sure I understood them. Maybe they were just saying the same thing in a different way. In any case, of course, feel free to add them back. --Matthew Faulconer 05:34, 24 Apr 2006 (UTC)

I think the previous exegesis was suggesting an interpretation based on Christ's motivation. That is, instead of reading sake "as a result of the atonement," the meaning would be more like "because this is the end result that Christ desires." I'm not sure quite how/if this squares with the 1828 defintion (is this "purpose of obtaining" in def. 1, or "with regard to" in the sense of def. 2?), though I think there is a different nuance of meaning thinking about it this other way. --RobertC 17:24, 24 Apr 2006 (UTC)

Verses 27:11-15[edit]

The love that the father had for us is sometimes incomprehensible. He sent his only begotten son to be lifted up upon the cross to die for us. I am not a father but I can see and know of the love that my earthly father has for me. I can realise the ammount of love and ultimate selflessness that it takes for someone to give up someone else that they love for the greater good. That is why our God is an all loving and all knowing God. He is so much better and wiser than us. I am grateful for a God that knows the beginning from the end and that loves us enough to send his son to show us the way to come to him again. --Bhardle 02:04, 7 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Verses 27:16-20[edit]

One analogy that I always found that represented the fact that no unclean thing can enter into the Kingdom of heaven was that of an all white house. Imagine there is an all white house with all white carpet and all white furniture. We represent little children that go out and play. While we play we get all dirty and muddy. When we return to the all white house our loving parents won't allow us to come in again until we get clean again. So there is a hose and with water we become clean again. Christ's atonement represents this water and it is only through this water can we become clean again.--Bhardle 02:04, 7 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Verses 27:21-25[edit]

It is interesting to note how much he emphasized the importance of writing things down. I think that it is equally as important today that we write things down. I think that is why the prophets and apostles have encouraged us to write things down in our journal today. It is a good thing to see the hand of God and see how god works in our lives.--Bhardle 02:04, 7 Nov 2005 (UTC)
