==Scope==
What is the scope of this project? do you intend only to cover the scriptures, or is it open to examination of church history as well? I'd love to see a wiki that included, say, articles on each modern day Prophet and Apostle, commentary on news items, such as what is going on with that Southerton dude, and other things.

Would the creators of this Wiki support additions like that, or send interested users to a different Wiki?

:This site is for commentary and discussion of the scriptures. I don't see the focus of this site being broadened. 

:At one point in time [[User:Mark]] started a wiki devoted to LDS doctrine. I don't think it is active at this time. I am not aware of any other wiki's devoted to lds topics but who knows what is out there now or what might be started soon. There are a bunch of blogs devoted to the topics you mention. Some links to these are listed on [[Site:LDS blogs]].

:PS If you feel comfortable doing it, I would suggest logging in to post comments in the future. Having a login name makes it easier to have a discussion. I can think of several reasons off-hand for logging in 1) it is not as easy to remember ip addresses as it is names 2) it is nicer saying "Hi Sue" then it is "Hi 65.216.70.86" 3) for some people their ip address keeps switching making it hard to figure out who is who 4) some people don't like having their ip address posted publicly, logging in prevents this (an ip address gives the actual internet address of your computer at the time of posting) 5) logging in allows you to personalize your experience at Feast upon the Word a bit 6) it allows other people to send you a private message (to your e-mail) without revealing your e-mail address to them 7) there's got to be some more reasons but none occur to me right now.

==Inclusion of Extra-canonical Scriptures==

In the spirit of [[D&C_91:1-6|D&C 91]], I'd like to include here commentary on lost scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. I'm happy to undertake this project, if the community agrees to include it.

:Personally, I like the idea.  If it's too much of stretch to put on main commentary pages, you can always put it on a user subpage.  After all, I've been writing about [[User:RobertC/World religions|Taoist texts here]]....  --[[User:RobertC|RobertC]] 23:16, 11 Apr 2006 (UTC)

::Let's see how it goes. An easy way to begin is simply to start on a user subpage organizing it however you think is best. As RobertC notes, there is precendent for starting your own project related to the scriptures using a user subpage. [[User:SteveJensen|Steve Jensen]] started doing his own thing around [[User:SteveJensen|topical content]] using user subpages. Subpages are a great place to experiment with something new and see how it goes. If you want to invite others to edit your page, let them know that explicitly; otherwise they might assume they shouldn't. A few questions that I would like to see addressed on the home page:

* To what extent is this wiki/blog representing the church?
* To what extent is the wiki commentary authoritative?
* What is the purpose of this project, and who can contribute?
