How do I find help understanding a certain scripture?[edit]

Take a look at the commentary page for that scripture. To get to there, follow one of the following links to the particular scripture of interest: The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine & Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price. Once you are on the particular relevant verses for your scripture, look to see if there is a question there or commentary there that addresses your question. If you don't find what you are looking for, try looking next on the discussion page for those verses by clicking on the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. If you still don't find anything that addresses the question you have, add your question to that page. (Look at help:editing to see how to do that.)

How can I contribute something to the site?[edit]

Some good instructions for getting started are on the home page. For help in knowing how to make a change to a page see help:editing. For help on what type of content belongs on a commentary page see help:commentary pages. For help on what type of content belongs on a discussion page see help:discussion pages.

Don't feel shy about just diving in and making changes without first reading through everything. However, if you are going to go this route, start small and see what comes of it rather than making lots of changes before you are familiar with the conventions of the site.

Why was something I contributed moved by someone else?[edit]

It is common to move something someone posts on a commentary page to the linked discussion page. This will often happen if someone feels that the content doesn't fit the conventions for commentary pages. See help:commentary pages. Of course, if you aren't sure why someone moved your content, a good thing to do is to ask them. To do this you first have to figure out who made the change (see #5 below). Then go to that user's talk page and add your question there.

Why was something I contributed changed by someone else?[edit]

People are encouraged to change content on this site if they think that by changing it they can improve upon it. If you believe the change is actually worse, you may want to discuss the issue on the related discussion page.

How do I figure out who changed what I wrote?[edit]

Click on the history tab at the top of the page. That will list each version of the page. Click the link on the date and time to see that version. You can also use this page to compare different versions to see the change. To the right of each version it shows the name of the person who posted it. Clicking on that person's name will take you to that person's page.

How do I see what changes have been made to the site recently?[edit]

Click the "recent changes" link on the left of the page under the site icon in the navigation box.

How do I see who contributed to the page I am reading?[edit]

Click on the history tab at the top of the page.

What can I do to help?[edit]

The most important way to help is to build the content of the site by adding your questions and insights on the scriptures. Additionally, the community portal lists several other ways to help.
