[edit] Verse 8
- Unleavened bread. Leaven is probably symbolic of sin (relating to fermentation) here. Leaven seems to symbolize sin in Matt 16:6, 11-12 (cf. Mark 8:15 and Luke 12:1); 1 Cor 5:6-8; Hosea 7:4; and Gal 5:9, but to be used with a positive connotation in Lev 23:15-21, Amos 4:5, and Matt 13:33.
